DC STATEHOOD DAY
DC Statehood Day is a day of action and awareness, when Washington DC residents lift their voices in unison to tell the country about the importance of statehood for the District of Columbia. We have chosen May 1 due to its abbreviation as 5.1, representing DC’s desire to become the 51st state. On 5.1, please raise awareness of the issue by:
- Discussing its importance with friends and relatives.
- Wearing DC-themed clothes and apparel in public.
- Attend and host DC Statehood events throughout the city.
- Using #dcstatehoodday on all social media channels.
